Face-to-face, phone or video in Kelty
For short, urgent conversations in Kelty (a GP receptionist call, a doorstep statement, an emergency department triage), telephone Afrikaans interpreting is on demand and connects within minutes. For longer or more sensitive appointments (a contested hearing, a mental-health assessment, a customer meeting), face-to-face in Kelty is worth the extra time it takes to confirm. Video works well when the parties are in different places but eye contact still matters.
How long it takes to confirm in Kelty
Telephone Afrikaans is on demand. Face-to-face appointments in Kelty can usually be confirmed within a few hours. Less common Afrikaans dialects benefit from a day or two's notice; that's normally enough to get you the strongest interpreter rather than the only available one.

Afrikaans interpreting in Kelty: FAQs
How much does a Afrikaans interpreter cost in Kelty?
Cost depends on the language, the type of appointment, how long it is and how much notice you can give. There isn't a single hourly figure that's honest across NHS, legal and private work in Kelty. Send the basics through the quote form and we'll come back with a price.
How do you pick the right interpreter for my Kelty appointment?
We match on three things: subject experience (an NHS booking goes to a Afrikaans interpreter who has worked in NHS settings, not just any interpreter), Afrikaans dialect, and availability for your time and place in Kelty. If you have a preferred linguist from a previous job, we'll try them first.
Can you cover urgent / same-day Afrikaans requests in Kelty?
Telephone Afrikaans is on demand. For face-to-face in Kelty, same-day is often possible for the more common languages; for less common dialects, give us a day's notice if you can and we'll get you the right person.

About the Afrikaans language
Afrikaans developed from the Dutch spoken by seventeenth-century settlers at the Cape, gradually absorbing words from Malay, Portuguese, Khoisan and Bantu languages. It is a West Germanic language, written in the Latin alphabet, and one of South Africa's official languages, with roughly seven million native speakers there and several million more who use it as a second language. Namibia also has a sizeable Afrikaans-speaking community, where the language long served as a lingua franca. Grammatically it is simpler than Dutch: verbs no longer change for person, grammatical gender has gone, and the double negative, as in "ek weet nie", is a signature feature. Dutch and Afrikaans speakers can still understand a good deal of each other's languages, particularly in writing, though the two have been diverging for three centuries.
