Bemba Language Services in the UK

About Our Bemba Services

Bemba is a Bantu language of Zambia, where it is one of seven regional languages recognised for use in education and broadcasting. It is the main language of the country's north and the everyday lingua franca of the Copperbelt mining towns, and it is also spoken over the border in the Democratic Republic of the Congo. Estimates put native speakers at around four million, with several million more using Bemba as a second language. Like most Bantu languages it is tonal and builds words around a system of noun classes. Bemba is written in the Latin alphabet, while Zambia's official language, English, sits alongside it in schools, courts and government.

Prism Linguistics provides Bemba translation, interpreting and transcription across the UK in 300+ languages. Whether you need a certified document for the Home Office, a court interpreter, an NHS appointment or a business meeting, our vetted native-speaker linguists are ready to help.
