For longer or more sensitive appointments (a contested hearing, a mental-health assessment, a customer meeting), face-to-face in Wellingborough is worth the extra time it takes to confirm. Video works well when the parties are in different places but eye contact still matters.

Chaochow interpreting in Wellingborough: FAQs
How much does a Chaochow interpreter cost in Wellingborough?
Cost depends on the language, the type of appointment, how long it is and how much notice you can give. There isn't a single hourly figure that's honest across NHS, legal and private work in Wellingborough. Send the basics through the quote form and we'll come back with a price.
How do you pick the right interpreter for my Wellingborough appointment?
We match on three things: subject experience (an NHS booking goes to a Chaochow interpreter who has worked in NHS settings, not just any interpreter), Chaochow dialect, and availability for your time and place in Wellingborough. If you have a preferred linguist from a previous job, we'll try them first.
Can you cover urgent / same-day Chaochow requests in Wellingborough?
Telephone Chaochow is on demand. For face-to-face in Wellingborough, same-day is often possible for the more common languages; for less common dialects, give us a day's notice if you can and we'll get you the right person.

About Wellingborough
Wellingborough is a town in Northamptonshire, a former market and manufacturing centre that has grown with new housing and a more varied population in recent years. That growth brings a regular need for language support across local organisations. GP surgeries and clinics arrange appointments for patients with limited English, council and local authority services handle housing and benefits enquiries, and schools and colleges support families whose first language is not English. Local solicitors and legal firms need accurate interpreting for client work, and local businesses need documents translated for trade and correspondence. Prism Linguistics provides certified document translation, face-to-face interpreting, and telephone and video interpreting in over 300 languages. Every job is completed by a qualified native-speaker linguist and then reviewed by a second linguist, so accuracy is confirmed before delivery rather than taken on trust. All work is confidential and handled under UK GDPR. From the town centre out across the surrounding Northamptonshire area, we support organisations throughout Wellingborough whenever clear communication is needed.

About the Chaochow language
Chaochow, better known as Teochew, is spoken in Britain within the wider Chinese community, particularly among families with roots in the Chaoshan region of eastern Guangdong and among Teochew who came by way of Malaysia, Singapore, Thailand and Vietnam. It is a Southern Min variety, only partly intelligible with Hokkien and quite distinct from Mandarin or Cantonese. Because it is chiefly a spoken language, most written work is handled in standard Chinese, so our Teochew involvement is usually interpreting: helping at NHS appointments, in the courts, and with Home Office and settlement matters where a speaker is more comfortable in their home dialect. Teochew has roughly 14 million speakers in the Chaoshan region and over five million more overseas.
