Dzongkha is the national language of Bhutan, a South Tibetic language of the Sino-Tibetan family written in the Tibetan script. The Bhutanese community in the UK is very small, and there is no established Dzongkha-speaking population of any real size here. When the language does come up, the work we handle tends to be civil documents and personal certificates connected to immigration, settlement or asylum applications for the Home Office and UKVI, tribunal papers, and the occasional academic transcript sent for UK ENIC evaluation. Counting first and second-language speakers, Dzongkha is used by around 640,000 people, almost all of them in Bhutan.
Prism Linguistics provides Dzongkha translation, interpreting and transcription across the UK in 300+ languages. Whether you need a certified document for the Home Office, a court interpreter, an NHS appointment or a business meeting, our vetted native-speaker linguists are ready to help.
