Gaddang Language Services in the UK

About Our Gaddang Services

Gaddang is an Austronesian language of the northern Philippines, spoken in the Cagayan Valley, chiefly in the provinces of Nueva Vizcaya and Isabela on the island of Luzon. It belongs to the Northern Luzon group and is related to Ibanag and Itawis, spoken nearby. Speaker numbers are modest, generally estimated in the tens of thousands, and most Gaddang speakers are multilingual, using Ilocano as the regional lingua franca along with Tagalog and English, the languages of national life and schooling. That layering puts pressure on Gaddang, and younger generations in the towns increasingly shift to the bigger languages, though it remains in daily use in rural communities. The language is written in the Latin alphabet, and some school materials and church texts exist in it.

Prism Linguistics provides Gaddang translation, interpreting and transcription across the UK in 300+ languages. Whether you need a certified document for the Home Office, a court interpreter, an NHS appointment or a business meeting, our vetted native-speaker linguists are ready to help.
