Kinyarwanda Language Services in the UK

About Our Kinyarwanda Services

Kinyarwanda is a Bantu language and the national language of Rwanda, where it is official alongside English, French and Swahili. Nearly the whole population speaks it, which makes Rwanda unusual among African countries, most of which are multilingual at street level; estimates put speakers at over 12 million. Kinyarwanda is closely related to Kirundi, the language of neighbouring Burundi, and the two are mutually intelligible to a large degree. It is a tonal language with the noun-class system typical of Bantu languages, and it is written in the Latin alphabet. Rwandan communities abroad, including those in the UK, continue to use Kinyarwanda at home and in community life.

Prism Linguistics provides Kinyarwanda translation, interpreting and transcription across the UK in 300+ languages. Whether you need a certified document for the Home Office, a court interpreter, an NHS appointment or a business meeting, our vetted native-speaker linguists are ready to help.
