Kosovan Language Services in the UK

About Our Kosovan Services

Kosovan is not a distinct language: the majority language of Kosovo is Albanian, which is official there alongside Serbian. Albanian forms its own independent branch of the Indo-European family, related to no other living language, and is written in the Latin alphabet. The Albanian spoken in Kosovo belongs to the Gheg dialect group, which covers northern Albania, Kosovo and parts of North Macedonia, while the standard language taught in schools is based mainly on the southern Tosk dialect. Around 1.6 million people in Kosovo speak Albanian, part of an estimated six million or so Albanian speakers across the Balkans and a large European diaspora. Kosovar Albanian communities are well established in Switzerland, Germany and the UK, particularly London.

Prism Linguistics provides Kosovan translation, interpreting and transcription across the UK in 300+ languages. Whether you need a certified document for the Home Office, a court interpreter, an NHS appointment or a business meeting, our vetted native-speaker linguists are ready to help.
