Latvian is the official language of Latvia and one of the two surviving Baltic languages. Latvians are a substantial UK community, one that grew quickly after Latvia joined the EU in 2004, with roughly 99,000 people born in Latvia recorded at the 2021 census. They are concentrated in London, Coventry, Kingston upon Hull, Bradford, Northampton, Derby and Glasgow, and across East Anglia in Peterborough, Boston and King's Lynn.
