Manx translation services in Farnborough

Document translation is mostly handled by email: your file goes to a Manx native translator, the translated version comes back to you in the format you need. So even though this page is about Farnborough, location matters less for translation than it does for interpreting: we deliver to clients in Farnborough the same way we deliver to clients anywhere else in the UK. The Farnborough-specific bit is the local context: if your document is for a Farnborough solicitor, a Farnborough hospital or a Farnborough university, we'll handle the formatting and the accompanying paperwork the way those bodies expect.

Certified Manx translation

For most UK official use in Farnborough (UKVI applications, court proceedings, university admissions, registry office work, Home Office cases), certified Manx translation is what's required. We provide that as standard: the translated document plus a signed declaration of accuracy on Prism Linguistics letterhead, with the translator's name and our company stamp. The UK has no sworn translators, so certification is what UK offices accept. If an office abroad also wants an apostille or a notarised copy, that step is yours or your solicitor's; we can translate documents that already carry one.

What we translate

How to order a Manx translation in Farnborough

Send us the document. We'll come back within an hour during UK office hours with a price and a delivery date. A Manx native translator with the right subject background does the work; a second linguist reviews it; we deliver in the format you asked for. Standard turnaround for a short certificate is normally next working day; longer pieces are quoted with a realistic date.

English to Manx translator (and the other way round) in Farnborough

We work in both directions. Customer-facing copy (websites, brochures, ads, emails) is adapted rather than translated word for word, so it reads like it was written in Manx in the first place. Legal, medical and technical documents stay faithful to the source, with formatting matched to the original.

Need a spoken-language interpreter in Farnborough too?

If you also need a person in the room (or on the call) to handle spoken conversation, see our Manx interpreter in Farnborough page. Same team, same booking flow.

About Farnborough

Farnborough sits in the Rushmoor district of north-east Hampshire, best known for its aviation history and airshow. Most of the work that reaches us here comes through its hospital, colleges and the surrounding courts. Frimley Park Hospital, run by the Frimley Health NHS Foundation Trust, serves north-east Hampshire and west Surrey, while serious cases go to the Crown Court and first hearings are dealt with at magistrates' courts in the area. Farnborough College of Technology and its university centre bring in students from across the region. The town and its neighbours have a long-established Nepali community, tied to the Gurkha connection with nearby Aldershot, so Nepali is asked for regularly here. Other South Asian and European languages come up too. We are also called on for the rarer languages a single hearing or medical appointment can hinge on, and those are usually the requests other agencies struggle to fill.

About the Manx language

Manx is a Goidelic Celtic language native to the Isle of Man, close kin to Irish and Scottish Gaelic. Its last native speaker, Ned Maddrell, died in 1974, but a determined revival has brought it back: the 2021 census recorded 2,223 people with some Manx, there is a Manx-medium primary school, and the language is taught in island schools and recognised under the European Charter for Regional or Minority Languages. Our Manx work is a matter of heritage rather than immigration, things like personal and family records, cultural and educational material, and official or ceremonial text where an accurate English rendering is wanted. Manx is spoken today by a couple of thousand people, all as a revived second language.
