Moroccan Arabic Language Services in the UK

About Our Moroccan Arabic Services

Moroccan Arabic, known locally as Darija, is the everyday spoken language of most of Morocco's population of well over 30 million. It is a Maghrebi Arabic variety, shaped by centuries of contact with Berber and salted with loanwords from French and Spanish; the result differs so much from the Arabic of the Middle East that speakers from the two regions can struggle to follow one another. Morocco's official languages are Modern Standard Arabic and Amazigh, and Standard Arabic is used for writing, news and formal speech, while Darija carries conversation, film and popular music. When Moroccans write Darija informally, online for instance, they use either Arabic script or Latin letters. Moroccan communities across Western Europe keep the language in daily use.

Prism Linguistics provides Moroccan Arabic translation, interpreting and transcription across the UK in 300+ languages. Whether you need a certified document for the Home Office, a court interpreter, an NHS appointment or a business meeting, our vetted native-speaker linguists are ready to help.
