Face-to-face, phone or video in Duns
For short, urgent conversations in Duns (a GP receptionist call, a doorstep statement, an emergency department triage), telephone Nauruan interpreting is on demand and connects within minutes. For longer or more sensitive appointments (a contested hearing, a mental-health assessment, a customer meeting), face-to-face in Duns is worth the extra time it takes to confirm. Video works well when the parties are in different places but eye contact still matters.
How long it takes to confirm in Duns
Telephone Nauruan is on demand. Face-to-face appointments in Duns can usually be confirmed within a few hours. Less common Nauruan dialects benefit from a day or two's notice; that's normally enough to get you the strongest interpreter rather than the only available one.
How to book or hire a Nauruan interpreter in Duns
Send us the date, the venue and the type of appointment. We come back with the interpreter and a price (usually within the hour during UK office hours), and once you confirm, the linguist works the assignment. Pay-as-you-go, monthly invoicing, or to a PO if your accounts team need that.
English to Nauruan interpreter (and the other way round) in Duns
Our Nauruan interpreters in Duns work in both directions, consecutively (most appointments) or simultaneously where the setting calls for it. For events with equipment requirements, such as booths and headsets, let us know at quote stage so we can scope the kit and the interpreter team size correctly.

Nauruan interpreting in Duns: FAQs
How much does a Nauruan interpreter cost in Duns?
Cost depends on the language, the type of appointment, how long it is and how much notice you can give. There isn't a single hourly figure that's honest across NHS, legal and private work in Duns. Send the basics through the quote form and we'll come back with a price.
How do you pick the right interpreter for my Duns appointment?
We match on three things: subject experience (an NHS booking goes to a Nauruan interpreter who has worked in NHS settings, not just any interpreter), Nauruan dialect, and availability for your time and place in Duns. If you have a preferred linguist from a previous job, we'll try them first.
Can you cover urgent / same-day Nauruan requests in Duns?
Telephone Nauruan is on demand. For face-to-face in Duns, same-day is often possible for the more common languages; for less common dialects, give us a day's notice if you can and we'll get you the right person.

About Duns
Duns is a small market town in the Scottish Borders, set in rolling farmland in the old county of Berwickshire. It is a rural place without a court or general hospital of its own; Berwickshire Sheriff Court closed in 2015, and local cases are now heard at the Borders sheriff court in Jedburgh, with Scotland's most serious matters going before the High Court of Justiciary. Hospital care is based at Borders General Hospital near Melrose. Everyday council, health and legal services are what bring translation and interpreting work our way. This is farming country, and agriculture in the Borders has drawn workers from Poland and elsewhere in central Europe, so those languages come up most often. The town keeps a memorial to the Polish troops stationed here during the Second World War, a reminder that the connection is not new. When a rarer language is needed for a hearing or a medical appointment, that is the kind of request other agencies find hardest to fill, and the kind we cover.

About the Nauruan language
Nauruan is the language of Nauru, one of the world's smallest republics, and it has no community in the UK; with only a few thousand speakers in total, Nauruans abroad are very few and use English, which is widely spoken on the island, for official purposes. Any Nauruan work we might handle would be a one-off, most likely a civil or identity document or immigration paper for a Home Office or UKVI case, or a transcript sent for UK ENIC evaluation, with an interpreter arranged only if a rare need arose. Nauruan, a Micronesian language of the Austronesian family, has around 9,000 speakers.
