Ndebele, more precisely Northern Ndebele, is an Nguni language of Zimbabwe, centred on Matabeleland and the city of Bulawayo, and closely related to Zulu. It should not be confused with the separate Southern Ndebele language of South Africa. Ndebele speakers in Britain are part of the sizeable Zimbabwean community, which is spread across London and towns in the South East, the Midlands and the North. Our Ndebele work is mostly civil documents, birth, marriage and death certificates for Home Office and UKVI settlement and asylum cases, court and tribunal papers, and academic transcripts assessed by UK ENIC, with interpreting where it fits. Northern Ndebele has around 2.6 million speakers, chiefly in Zimbabwe.
Prism Linguistics provides Ndebele translation, interpreting and transcription across the UK in 300+ languages. Whether you need a certified document for the Home Office, a court interpreter, an NHS appointment or a business meeting, our vetted native-speaker linguists are ready to help.
