Niuean Language Services in the UK

About Our Niuean Services

Niuean is a Polynesian language spoken on Niue, a raised coral island in the South Pacific that governs itself in free association with New Zealand. It is official on the island alongside English and belongs to the same branch of Polynesian as Tongan, its closest major relative. The speaker base is small and unusual in its geography: only a couple of thousand people remain on Niue, and far more Niueans, including most speakers, now live in New Zealand, particularly in Auckland. That migration has left the language vulnerable, and both Niue and New Zealand support teaching programmes along with an annual Niuean language week. Niuean is written in the Latin alphabet.

Prism Linguistics provides Niuean translation, interpreting and transcription across the UK in 300+ languages. Whether you need a certified document for the Home Office, a court interpreter, an NHS appointment or a business meeting, our vetted native-speaker linguists are ready to help.
