Pedi Language Services in the UK

About Our Pedi Services

Pedi, also called Northern Sotho or Sepedi, is a Bantu language of the Sotho-Tswana group and one of South Africa's official languages. Its speakers, numbering around 4.6 million by home-language counts, live mainly in Limpopo province in the northeast of the country, with sizeable numbers in Gauteng. The naming is tangled: strictly speaking, Sepedi is the dialect of the Pedi people on which the written standard was largely based, while Northern Sotho is the broader language taking in some 30 dialects, but the South African constitution uses Sepedi as the official name. It is written in the Latin alphabet and used in schooling, broadcasting and government publications. Northern Sotho is related to Sesotho and Setswana, and speakers of the three follow one another readily.

Prism Linguistics provides Pedi translation, interpreting and transcription across the UK in 300+ languages. Whether you need a certified document for the Home Office, a court interpreter, an NHS appointment or a business meeting, our vetted native-speaker linguists are ready to help.
