Sangho Language Services in the UK

About Our Sangho Services

Sangho, usually spelled Sango, is the national language of the Central African Republic and shares official status there with French, a rare case of an African country granting official rank to an indigenous language. It began as a vehicular form of Ngbandi, spoken along the Ubangi River, and expanded rapidly during the colonial period; many linguists class it as a creole. Most of the country's population speaks Sango, the large majority as a second language alongside home languages, and it dominates markets, radio and everyday town life in Bangui and beyond. It is a tonal language written in the Latin alphabet, with an official orthography adopted in the 1980s. First-language speakers remain a minority, but their numbers are growing steadily in the cities.

Prism Linguistics provides Sangho translation, interpreting and transcription across the UK in 300+ languages. Whether you need a certified document for the Home Office, a court interpreter, an NHS appointment or a business meeting, our vetted native-speaker linguists are ready to help.
