Sorani, or Central Kurdish, is spoken mainly by Kurds from Iraq and Iran, and the Kurdish community in the UK is a substantial one, put at roughly 94,000 people at the 2021 census, with the largest numbers in London, the West Midlands around Birmingham, and West Yorkshire.
