About Durness
Durness is a remote village on the north-west coast of the Highlands, in Sutherland, around 120 miles from Inverness and part of the most sparsely populated region in western Europe. Tama is a Nilo-Saharan language of the Eastern Sudanic branch, spoken in the Ouaddai region of eastern Chad and across the border in Darfur in western Sudan.
