About Appleby
Appleby-in-Westmorland is a small market town in the Westmorland and Furness area of Cumbria. There is no court or hospital in the town itself. During the Indonesian occupation the church's use of Tetum helped fix it as a marker of national identity, and it became official at independence in 2002.
