Face-to-face, phone or video in Neath
For short, urgent conversations in Neath (a GP receptionist call, a doorstep statement, an emergency department triage), telephone Tetum interpreting is on demand and connects within minutes. For longer or more sensitive appointments (a contested hearing, a mental-health assessment, a customer meeting), face-to-face in Neath is worth the extra time it takes to confirm. Video works well when the parties are in different places but eye contact still matters.
How long it takes to confirm in Neath
Telephone Tetum is on demand. Face-to-face appointments in Neath can usually be confirmed within a few hours. Less common Tetum dialects benefit from a day or two's notice; that's normally enough to get you the strongest interpreter rather than the only available one.

Tetum interpreting in Neath: FAQs
How much does a Tetum interpreter cost in Neath?
Cost depends on the language, the type of appointment, how long it is and how much notice you can give. There isn't a single hourly figure that's honest across NHS, legal and private work in Neath. Send the basics through the quote form and we'll come back with a price.
How do you pick the right interpreter for my Neath appointment?
We match on three things: subject experience (an NHS booking goes to a Tetum interpreter who has worked in NHS settings, not just any interpreter), Tetum dialect, and availability for your time and place in Neath. If you have a preferred linguist from a previous job, we'll try them first.
Can you cover urgent / same-day Tetum requests in Neath?
Telephone Tetum is on demand. For face-to-face in Neath, same-day is often possible for the more common languages; for less common dialects, give us a day's notice if you can and we'll get you the right person.

About the Tetum language
Tetum is an Austronesian language and, together with Portuguese, an official language of East Timor (Timor-Leste). It functions as the country's main lingua franca, spoken or understood by most of the population of about 1.3 million. Two main forms exist: Tetum Dili, the variety of the capital, which has absorbed a heavy layer of Portuguese vocabulary and serves as the national standard, and Tetum Terik, a more conservative rural form. The language is written in the Latin alphabet, with an official orthography maintained by the country's national linguistics institute. Tetum is also spoken across the border in Indonesian West Timor. During the Indonesian occupation the church's use of Tetum helped fix it as a marker of national identity, and it became official at independence in 2002.
