About Our Tigre Services

Tigre is a Semitic language of western and northern Eritrea and the adjoining parts of Sudan, spoken by the Tigre people and related to Tigrinya. Eritreans in Britain form a small community, many of whom arrived as refugees, and Tigre speakers are part of it, though Tigrinya is more common among them. Our Tigre-related work is largely tied to asylum and immigration cases before the Home Office and UKVI, along with civil documents such as birth and marriage certificates and academic transcripts assessed by UK ENIC. Interpreting is often needed in asylum, NHS and legal settings. Tigre has around one million speakers, almost all in Eritrea and Sudan.
