Tobi translation services in Kendal
Document translation is mostly handled by email: your file goes to a Tobi native translator, the translated version comes back to you in the format you need. So even though this page is about Kendal, location matters less for translation than it does for interpreting: we deliver to clients in Kendal the same way we deliver to clients anywhere else in the UK. The Kendal-specific bit is the local context: if your document is for a Kendal solicitor, a Kendal hospital or a Kendal university, we'll handle the formatting and the accompanying paperwork the way those bodies expect.
Certified Tobi translation
For most UK official use in Kendal (UKVI applications, court proceedings, university admissions, registry office work, Home Office cases), certified Tobi translation is what's required. We provide that as standard: the translated document plus a signed declaration of accuracy on Prism Linguistics letterhead, with the translator's name and our company stamp. Sworn or apostilled formats are available if your receiving body asks for those instead; just tell us at quote stage.
What we translate
How to order a Tobi translation in Kendal
Send us the document. We'll come back within an hour during UK office hours with a price and a delivery date. A Tobi native translator with the right subject background does the work; a second linguist reviews it; we deliver in the format you asked for. Standard turnaround for a short certificate is normally next working day; longer pieces are quoted with a realistic date.
English to Tobi translator (and the other way round) in Kendal
We work in both directions. Customer-facing copy (websites, brochures, ads, emails) is adapted rather than translated word for word, so it reads like it was written in Tobi in the first place. Legal, medical and technical documents stay faithful to the source, with formatting matched to the original.
Need a spoken-language interpreter in Kendal too?
If you also need a person in the room (or on the call) to handle spoken conversation, see our Tobi interpreter in Kendal page. Same team, same booking flow.

Tobi translator FAQs for Kendal
How much does Tobi translation cost in Kendal?
It depends on the length of the document, the language pair and how quickly you need it back. Certified work on short certificates is priced per document rather than per word. Send the document through the quote form and we'll give you a fixed price, normally within the hour during UK office hours.
Do I need a certified Tobi translation?
For most UK official use (UKVI, courts, universities and registry offices) yes. We provide certified translation as standard: the translated document plus a signed declaration of accuracy on Prism Linguistics letterhead. If your receiving body asks for a sworn or apostilled format instead, tell us at quote stage.
How quickly can you translate a Tobi document in Kendal?
A short document is normally back the next working day. Larger projects get a realistic delivery date that builds in the second-linguist review. Same-day is sometimes possible for shorter items; tell us the deadline and we'll be straight with you about whether we can hit it.
Can I find a Tobi translator near me in Kendal?
Yes. Delivery is by email wherever you are in Kendal, and hard copies go out by Royal Mail Special Delivery if you need one. If you also need someone in the room, we arrange Tobi interpreters across Kendal too.
About Kendal
Kendal sits in the Westmorland and Furness unitary authority, in the historic county of Cumbria, at the southern edge of the Lake District. It has no Crown Court of its own, so serious cases are heard at Carlisle Crown Court, while local solicitors, GP surgeries and hospital appointments still generate steady day-to-day work. Westmorland General Hospital, run by University Hospitals of Morecambe Bay NHS Foundation Trust, is the main local site, and Kendal College adds further and higher education courses. This is a mostly rural, largely white British area, so the demand tends to be steady rather than high volume. Requests often come with tourism and seasonal work, agriculture, or an individual immigration or medical matter. We are also called on for the rarer languages a single hearing or appointment can turn on, and those are usually the requests other agencies in the region struggle to fill.

About the Tobi language
Tobian is a Micronesian language of Tobi, one of the Southwest Islands of Palau, with most of its remaining speakers now living in the hamlet of Echang on Koror. It is severely endangered, with only a couple of dozen native speakers left and the language gradually merging with neighbouring Sonsorolese. There is no Tobian community in the UK, and requests would be exceptional; any work would most likely be personal or identity documents handled alongside English, which is widely used in Palau. Tobian is spoken by only around 150 people in total, a reminder of how small some of the world's languages have become.
