Damara is the name for the Damara people's variety of Khoekhoe, also called Nama, a Khoisan language of Namibia known for its click consonants and spoken as well in parts of Botswana and South Africa. It holds national-language status in Namibia. Britain has no established Damara-speaking community, and Namibian migration here is small, so the language appears only occasionally in our work.
