About the Gaelic language
Scottish Gaelic belongs to the Goidelic branch of the Celtic languages, alongside Irish and Manx. It is written in the Latin alphabet and spoken mainly in Scotland, with its strongest communities in the Outer Hebrides and parts of the Highlands.
