What our Masai translators and interpreters cover for Annan clients
Most Annan bookings split between two needs: a document that has to be in another language for a UK body to accept it, or a conversation that has to happen with someone whose strongest language isn't English. The detail differs from job to job, but the principle is the same: the work has to be accurate enough that nobody on the receiving end has to guess what was meant.
- Legal: contracts, court papers, witness statements, instructed work for solicitors in Annan.
- Healthcare: patient letters, clinical notes, consent forms for Annan hospitals and clinics.
- Police and criminal: interviews, statements and disclosure material for Annan police, probation and CPS work.
- Business: supplier contracts, board papers, customer-facing copy.
- Public sector, social care, education, housing and registry work.
Certified Masai document translation in Annan
For UK official use (UKVI applications, court bundles, university admissions, registry office work), we provide certified Masai translation as standard: the translation plus a signed declaration of accuracy on Prism Linguistics letterhead, with the translator's name and our company stamp. Sworn or apostilled formats are available where a specific recipient requires them; tell us at quote stage.
Face-to-face, telephone and video interpreting in Annan
For appointments in Annan (a hospital outpatient, a solicitor conference, a contested hearing, a customer meeting), we send a Masai interpreter in person where it matters. For short or urgent conversations, telephone Masai interpreting connects in minutes. Video sits between the two: useful when parties are in different places but eye contact still matters.
See the face-to-face interpreting page for how we run an in-person booking, or the Masai interpreter in Annan page for what we cover locally.
Court work and HMCTS
We supply Masai interpreters with court experience for HMCTS hearings, tribunals and legal consultations in Annan. We match each court booking to a linguist whose credentials and vetting fit the setting; happy to send a CV before an appointment if it helps with your prep.

About the Masai language
Maasai, or Maa, is an Eastern Nilotic language spoken by the Maasai people of southern Kenya and northern Tanzania, alongside related groups such as the Samburu. It has essentially no settled community in Britain, and Maasai speakers here are usually part of the wider Kenyan and Tanzanian population, most of whom also use Swahili or English, so genuine Maasai requests are rare. When they do arise, our work is limited to occasional asylum and immigration documentation for the Home Office and the tribunals and the odd civil certificate or academic record evaluated by UK ENIC for recognition. Maasai has around 1.5 million speakers across Kenya and Tanzania.
About Annan
Annan sits in Dumfries and Galloway, in the south-west of Scotland, close to the border with England. Like the rest of Scotland it uses its own courts, so the criminal work from the town is dealt with under the sheriff court at Dumfries, about fifteen miles away, with the most serious cases going before the High Court of Justiciary. Healthcare is centred on the Dumfries and Galloway Royal Infirmary, and between the courts and the hospital there is steady demand for interpreters and certified translations. Annan is a mainly English and Scots-speaking town, without the large settled migrant communities of the bigger Scottish cities. Where language support is needed it tends to be for individual court cases, medical appointments and immigration matters, often involving eastern European or other less widely spoken languages. Law firms and courts come to us for the rarer languages a single hearing or appointment can turn on, the ones other agencies struggle to fill.

Why Choose Us
Translations that actually get accepted
Most of our work is for UK bodies that have to accept the translation as part of a process: courts, the Home Office, the NHS, universities, councils. We format and certify so the receiving body doesn't send it back.
Native Masai linguists, second-linguist review
Translators only translate into their first language. Every job is reviewed by a second Masai linguist before delivery: names, dates and formatting checked against the original.
Responsive in UK working hours
Quotes back within an hour in UK office hours. For on-demand telephone interpreting we cover out-of-hours too; call the main number and you'll get connected.
