Yapese translation services in Whitehaven
Document translation is mostly handled by email: your file goes to a Yapese native translator, the translated version comes back to you in the format you need. So even though this page is about Whitehaven, location matters less for translation than it does for interpreting: we deliver to clients in Whitehaven the same way we deliver to clients anywhere else in the UK. The Whitehaven-specific bit is the local context: if your document is for a Whitehaven solicitor, a Whitehaven hospital or a Whitehaven university, we'll handle the formatting and the accompanying paperwork the way those bodies expect.
Certified Yapese translation
For most UK official use in Whitehaven (UKVI applications, court proceedings, university admissions, registry office work, Home Office cases), certified Yapese translation is what's required. We provide that as standard: the translated document plus a signed declaration of accuracy on Prism Linguistics letterhead, with the translator's name and our company stamp. Sworn or apostilled formats are available if your receiving body asks for those instead; just tell us at quote stage.
What we translate
How to order a Yapese translation in Whitehaven
Send us the document. We'll come back within an hour during UK office hours with a price and a delivery date. A Yapese native translator with the right subject background does the work; a second linguist reviews it; we deliver in the format you asked for. Standard turnaround for a short certificate is normally next working day; longer pieces are quoted with a realistic date.
English to Yapese translator (and the other way round) in Whitehaven
We work in both directions. Customer-facing copy (websites, brochures, ads, emails) is adapted rather than translated word for word, so it reads like it was written in Yapese in the first place. Legal, medical and technical documents stay faithful to the source, with formatting matched to the original.
Need a spoken-language interpreter in Whitehaven too?

About Whitehaven
Whitehaven is a coastal town in Cumbria, now part of the Cumberland unitary authority that took over from the county council in 2023. Its main hospital is the West Cumberland Hospital. There is no Crown Court in the town: first hearings are dealt with at the local magistrates' court, and the more serious cases are heard at the Crown Court in Carlisle. Between the hospital and the courts, along with the solicitors who use them, there is a steady if modest need for interpreters and certified translations. West Cumbria is not a particularly diverse part of the country, but the nuclear industry at nearby Sellafield draws engineers and specialists from well beyond the UK, which brings an occasional need for other languages. Court and medical work accounts for most of the rest. When a rarer language is called for, that is usually when firms and courts come to us.

About the Yapese language
Yapese is spoken on the island of Yap in the Federated States of Micronesia, in the western Pacific. There is effectively no Yapese community in the UK. Work in it is therefore very rare and limited to the occasional civil or personal document for Home Office or UKVI purposes and credential evaluation through UK ENIC. Yapese has only around 5,000 speakers, almost all of them on Yap itself.
