Turkish Translation Services in Wembley

For Turkish families dealing with UK offices, the key document is often the population register extract, the nüfus kayıt örneği. HM Passport Office describes it as a record of personal and family information, and divorce, adoption and changes of name all appear on it. Because it shows in one place who is married to whom and whose child is whose, it turns up again and again when a UK application asks someone to prove a relationship.

Turkish nationals who came to work or run a business under the Ankara Agreement (ECAA) route extend their permission and later settle under Appendix ECAA, and family members on that route need their own papers in English. On the family visa route, GOV.UK wants every paper that isn't in English or Welsh to come with a certified translation. Turkish Cypriot families send older certificates written in Turkish, sometimes for an estate or a grandchild's first passport. Kurdish families from Turkey come to us too, since the Turkish state registry keeps its records in Turkish whatever language the family speaks at home.

English to Turkish Translator (and Turkish to English)

Turkish to English is mostly personal work, done for someone dealing with a UK office. The opposite direction is driven by organisations. An NHS body may want a discharge leaflet or appointment letter in Turkish; a council might need a housing notice or a school admissions letter for parents who read Turkish more comfortably. Solicitors send client care letters for a client to read before signing, and exporters bring product sheets and terms of sale.

English to Turkish translation is given to a native Turkish speaker; Turkish to English work goes to someone who grew up speaking English and reads Turkish fluently. Turkish puts the verb last and stacks meaning into suffixes, so a good translation rebuilds the sentence rather than mirroring it.

Certified Turkish Translation for UKVI, Courts and Universities

A certified Turkish translation from Prism pairs the Turkish-to-English text with a statement, signed and stamped on Prism letterhead and dated, that the translation is accurate. GOV.UK lists what such a statement should contain: confirmation that the translation matches the original, its date, and who made it with full contact details. Ours includes each of them. It comes as a PDF, with a tracked paper copy for any office that won't take a printout.

UK universities, HMCTS, HM Passport Office, UKVI and the Home Office all accept Turkish translations certified this way. For a passport, HM Passport Office asks for the certified translation alongside the original document, not instead of it.

Clients used to Turkey sometimes ask for a yeminli, or sworn, translator. The UK has no sworn translators; it relies on certification. Turkey is a party to the Hague Apostille Convention, and if your Turkish document already carries an apostille we translate that page with the rest. If a UK body wants one added, that step is yours or your solicitor's, not ours.

Turkish Documents We Translate

Turkish marriages come with two different pieces of paper, and they are not interchangeable. The family booklet (aile cüzdanı) handed over at the wedding is, in HM Passport Office's words, acceptable for change of name purposes but not for nationality purposes. The Formul B marriage certificate from the civil registry is accepted for all passport purposes. If you hold only the booklet and the application is about nationality, order a Formul B first. Births have their own international form, the Formul A.

UK ENIC's translation waiver does not cover Turkish, so a Turkish diploma sent for a statement of comparability needs a certified translation. And with an e-Devlet document, we translate the barcode line and its note exactly as printed, because the number can be checked on the portal's own verification service.

Turkish Legal, Medical and Business Translation

Turkish legal translation for families often starts with a divorce. Anyone divorced in Turkey who gives notice of marriage here must show proof of the divorce, and the register office charges a fee to check a divorce granted abroad, so the translation has to include every stamp and the finality note. Estates are the other big job. A parent leaves a flat in Turkey, and the solicitor here needs the tapu and the certificate of inheritance (veraset ilamı) in English. Our legal translation services handle both.

Turkish medical translation usually means a hospital report from Turkey translated for a UK consultant, or NHS information going the other way. See medical translation services. Firms selling into Turkey can order website translation and contracts too.

Professional Turkish Translators: Who Does the Work

Each Turkish translation is done by a professionally qualified Turkish translator, matched to the direction of the job and, for legal or medical files, to the subject. Before it leaves us, a second linguist checks the English line by line against the Turkish. What they catch is usually small, like a stamp left out or an i that has lost its dot.

It's reasonable to quiz any translator before you hire them. Are they a member of the ITI, or of the Chartered Institute of Linguists (CIOL)? How much Turkish civil registry material have they handled? A qualified Turkish translator won't mind.

How Much Does Turkish Translation Cost in Wembley?

A certified translation of one Turkish certificate or register extract costs from about £35 per page. Longer documents, such as a judgment running to several pages, are priced per word. Once we've seen a scan, the price we send is fixed, and it normally reaches you within the hour in UK office hours. There's more detail in our guide to translation cost.

How Long Does a Turkish Translation Take?

Short standard Turkish documents, a Formul A, a marriage certificate or a population register extract, normally take one to two working days. For short documents, same-day translation is possible, subject to capacity. Court files and bundles get their own delivery date when we quote, and a paper copy adds the time tracked post takes.

How to Order a Turkish Translation in Wembley

  1. Email us the document. A scan or sharp photo of every page, including the back of anything stamped, and the name of the UK body it is going to.
  2. Approve the price and spellings. We reply with a fixed price and a delivery day. Tell us how each name is printed on the passport, letter for letter.
  3. Get the signed translation. The certified PDF arrives by email; ask for a posted hard copy if the office needs one.

About Wembley

Wembley, in north west London, is best known for its major venues, but it is also a densely populated residential area with communities from right across the world. Alongside the crowds and events, everyday services here generate steady demand for interpreting and translation. Council and local authority teams deal with residents from many backgrounds, GP surgeries and clinics book appointments for patients with limited English, and schools and colleges support pupils and families who need language help. Local solicitors and legal firms rely on interpreters for immigration and family matters, and local businesses need documents translated for customers and suppliers. Prism Linguistics meets all of this with certified document translation, face-to-face interpreting, and telephone and video interpreting in more than 300 languages. Each assignment is handled by a qualified native-speaker linguist and independently checked by a second linguist before it goes out, keeping quality consistent. We treat all work as confidential and comply fully with UK GDPR. From the area around the stadium to the wider residential streets, we cover organisations throughout Wembley.

Turkish Translator Wembley FAQs

How much does Turkish translation cost in Wembley?

Prices for certified Turkish translation begin at about £35 per page for a single certificate or register extract, and longer documents are charged per word. Send a scan and a fixed price normally comes back inside the hour in UK office hours.

Can you certify a Turkish translation for UKVI or the Home Office?

Yes. Every certified Turkish translation we supply includes an accuracy statement on Prism letterhead, signed, stamped and dated, with the details GOV.UK asks a certified translation to carry, and it is accepted for UKVI and Home Office applications as well as by HMCTS and HM Passport Office.

How quickly can you translate a Turkish document?

Expect one to two working days for a short Turkish document such as a population register extract or a marriage certificate. A short file can occasionally be turned round the same day, subject to capacity; anything longer is given its own delivery date.

Do I need to send my original Turkish documents?

No. A sharp scan or photo of each page is enough for us, so the originals stay at home. Keep them handy all the same, since HM Passport Office expects the original to accompany the certified translation.

Do you translate English to Turkish as well as Turkish to English?

Yes, in both directions. English to Turkish jobs go to native Turkish speakers, Turkish to English jobs go to native English speakers who read Turkish fluently, and a second linguist checks every translation before delivery.

Can you translate a Turkish e-Devlet document that has a barcode?

Yes. A printout from the e-Devlet portal is translated like any other Turkish record, and we reproduce its barcode number and verification note exactly, so whoever receives the English version can see the document was issued with one.

About the Turkish Language

Turkish is written left to right in a Latin alphabet of 29 letters, and its special letters are where translations go wrong. There is a dotless i and a dotted capital I, a g with a breve, and an s and a c with a cedilla. UK systems often drop or swap them, so Ilgın can become Ilgin and Şahin becomes Sahin, and the machine-readable lines of a passport only use plain A to Z anyway. We copy every name exactly as the passport's photo page prints it. Dates are written day, month, year with dots. HM Passport Office also notes that a middle forename may come before the first one, and that an unknown birth date may be recorded as 1 January of the year.
