Dari Translator in Hounslow
Need a Dari translator in Hounslow? Prism Linguistics turns Afghan qualifications and records into English: grade 12 certificates, university degrees and transcripts, professional licences, tazkiras and marriage certificates. Each certified Dari translation ends with an accuracy statement we sign, stamp and date on company letterhead, a format accepted by UKVI, the Home Office and UK universities.
Dari Translation Services in Hounslow
Afghan school and university certificates are usually issued in Dari, Pashto and English together, and that mix is why they cause trouble in the UK. The printed English is not a translation anyone here can rely on. HM Passport Office's own guidance warns that genuine Afghan documents written in English may contain grammatical errors, so a degree title, a grade or a date can say something slightly different in the English line. We translate the Dari in full and flag any place where the printed English disagrees with it.
Resettled Afghans bring a particular kind of file. ARAP was for Afghan citizens who worked for or with the UK Government in Afghanistan in exposed or meaningful roles, and some arrived with degrees and long professional records. People who come through the Afghan Resettlement Programme are granted indefinite leave to remain, which is settlement. So the paperwork that follows is less about immigration than about getting a career back: a UK ENIC statement, a university place, a professional register. Our Dari translation services in Hounslow are built around that second stage.
Family papers tend to come later. A person settled here can sponsor a husband or wife for a partner visa, and the marriage certificate and tazkiras then need to be in English.
English to Dari Translator (and Dari to English)
Most Dari translation runs into English, because a certificate from Kabul or Herat only helps once a UK assessor can read every line of it. The other direction serves the people around Afghan families. A council resettlement officer sends a tenancy guide. A school writes home. An employer wants a site safety induction in Dari before a new starter's first shift.
English to Dari translation goes to a native Afghan Dari writer. That matters more than it sounds: text written for Iranian readers uses words an Afghan recognises but wouldn't normally choose, and an official letter loses authority when it sounds foreign. For Dari to English we use native English speakers who read Dari fluently.
Certified Dari Translation for UKVI, Courts and Universities
A Prism certified Dari translation consists of the complete English version plus a signed accuracy statement on Prism letterhead, dated and stamped, sent as a PDF and, if the recipient wants paper, as a tracked hard copy. It is accepted throughout the Home Office, UKVI included, and by HM Passport Office, HMCTS and UK universities.
For immigration applications the Home Office wants the Dari version submitted with a full English translation it can check independently. It has to carry a date, say plainly that it is accurate, and identify whoever translated it, person or agency, by full name, with a signature and contact details; leave to remain and settlement applications also ask for the translator's credentials. Every certificate we issue carries all of it.
UK ENIC runs its own translation waiver service, but only for a short list of languages: UNESCO ones such as Arabic, Chinese, French, Russian and Spanish, plus several European languages. Dari is not on it, so for a Statement of Comparability ENIC accepts certified translations from professional translators. Refugees and resettled Afghans can apply even with gaps in their papers; ENIC asks for whatever certificates exist and evidence of ARAP or ACRS resettlement. Doctors face a stricter routine. For specialist and GP registration the GMC wants the translation service's contact details on each translation, a stamped and signed copy of the original attached, and paper copies posted after the online application.
Notarisation, apostilles and FCDO legalisation are not services we arrange. If a body abroad insists on one, it falls to you or a solicitor to organise; a document that already carries one is fine for us to translate. Britain has no sworn translators; certification is what counts here.
Dari Documents We Translate
- grade 12 graduation certificates (the old baccalaureate), Kankor entrance results and school mark sheets
- bachelor's, master's and medical degrees with full university transcripts
- professional licences, ministry appointment letters and employment references
- tazkiras, paper or electronic, needed for a partner visa or a citizenship application (more on immigration document translation)
- Dari marriage certificate translation: the nikah certificate issued after the religious ceremony
- Dari birth certificate translation, for those who have one
- Afghan passports (see passport translation) and Afghan driving licences
- hospital records, prescriptions and vaccination cards
- court decisions, property papers and affidavits (see legal document translation)
Course length matters to an assessor. An Afghan bachelor's degree normally takes four years, engineering five and medicine about seven, internship included, and a transcript listing every semester carries more weight than the certificate alone.
Dari Legal, Medical and Business Translation
Dari legal translation is mostly evidence: family records for partner applications, Afghan court decisions, statements a solicitor needs in English before a hearing. More on our legal translation services page.
Dari medical translation travels both ways. A GP may want an Afghan discharge summary or a child's vaccination card read properly before planning catch-up jabs; an NHS team may need a screening letter put into Dari for its patients. See medical translation services.
For charities and employers publishing in Dari online, vocabulary is the trap. Copy localised for Iran reads as faintly foreign to Afghans (see website translation).
Professional Dari Translators: Who Does the Work
One professional Dari translator handles your file and a second linguist then compares it line by line with the Dari before release. Afghan certificates go to Dari translators who know Afghan administrative wording, because a ministry title or grading term can differ from its Iranian counterpart while looking almost identical. Membership of the ITI or CIOL is worth asking about, with us or with anyone else.
Names need a decision first. HM Passport Office notes that Dari names often have no surname, while Pashto names include a family name, so a Dari certificate may identify someone by a given name and the father's name. If your passport or eVisa now shows a surname, a qualified Dari translator keeps the document's wording and adds a note linking it to the name you use in the UK.
How Much Does Dari Translation Cost in Hounslow?

One Dari certificate generally takes one to two working days. A page or two might even be finished on the day you send it, capacity permitting (see same-day translation). Transcript bundles and GMC portfolios take longer; the quote gives the date.

Confidential Dari Document Translation
Dari document translation for resettled Afghans can expose people still in Afghanistan, such as a former colleague named in a reference letter or a relative on a tazkira, so files are kept confidential and processed in line with UK GDPR. Your translator, the reviewing linguist and our project manager are the only people who open your file.
About Hounslow
Hounslow is a borough in west London, close to the capital's main airport and among its most internationally mixed districts. With so many languages spoken across its communities, local organisations handle language differences constantly rather than now and then. Solicitors and legal firms, GP surgeries and health centres, council and local authority services, schools and colleges, and businesses of every size all need to communicate clearly with residents and clients from a wide range of backgrounds. Prism Linguistics supports that with certified document translation, face-to-face interpreting, and telephone and video interpreting in more than 300 languages. Every assignment is handled by a qualified native-speaker linguist and then reviewed by a second linguist, so what you receive is accurate on both sides of the language. Everything we do meets UK GDPR and confidentiality standards, which is essential when the material is legal, medical or personal. Prism covers Hounslow and the neighbouring parts of west London, with interpreters available in person for appointments and hearings or connected by phone and video when that is quicker.

Dari Translator Hounslow FAQs
How much does Dari translation cost in Hounslow?
A certified Dari translation costs from about £35 per page, and longer files such as transcripts are quoted per word. Upload your scans in UK office hours to get a fixed price, normally inside an hour.
Can you certify a Dari translation for UKVI or the Home Office?
Yes, a certified Dari translation from Prism follows the UKVI and Home Office format: a dated accuracy statement, signed and stamped on our letterhead, with our contact details. For leave to remain and settlement applications we also state the translator's credentials.
How quickly can you translate a Dari document?
One Dari certificate, a degree or a tazkira for example, is usually back with you within one to two working days. A one-page item can occasionally go back the same day, subject to capacity, and we date bigger jobs individually.
Do I need to send my original Dari documents?
No, you don't need to post original Dari documents to us. We work from clear scans or phone photos showing every page, stamp and margin note, and the receiving body will usually want to see the original alongside our certified translation.
My Afghan degree already has English printed on it. Do I still need a Dari translation?
Usually yes, an Afghan degree with printed English still needs a certified translation of the Dari. UK ENIC asks for certified translations of documents that are not in English, and the English printed on Afghan certificates is not always accurate. We translate the Dari wording and note anywhere it differs from the printed English.
Is there a Dari translator near me in Hounslow?
You don't need a Dari translator based in Hounslow, because Dari translation is done by email. Prism keeps no office in Hounslow, and the certified PDF reaches you wherever you live, with a tracked paper copy posted if it is needed.

About the Dari Language
Dari is written right to left in the same Perso-Arabic alphabet as Iranian Farsi, and the two are close on paper. Most Afghan papers are dated in the Solar Hijri calendar, whose year begins around 21 March. Afghan documents name its months after the signs of the zodiac, Hamal for the first month, where an Iranian document would say Farvardin. Some papers use the lunar Hijri calendar instead, so we confirm which calendar a date belongs to before converting it. Names reach English in several spellings, so the certified translation spells each name the way your passport does.
